Mason Bros Vegetable Farms, located in Werribee South, is an industry leader in growing and supplying the freshest cut vegetables Australia wide.
We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced full-time Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our agricultural maintenance team. This position will assist in maintaining and repairing agricultural machinery and equipment to ensure efficiency of our operations, to enable us to continue achieving our high standards of produce excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Installation and fitting of farm machinery, including tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment.
- Routine servicing and scheduled maintenance of all farm machinery.
- Installation of tractor implements and other attachments.
- Maintaining machinery and equipment register entries.
- Commissioning of new and improved farm lines to ensure they are set up to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Repairing and rebuilding diesel engines of farm tractors and machinery.
- Developing and installing new harvest machines and related attachments.
- Assisting with workshop and fabrication projects as required.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and servicing for tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment.
- Liaising with external repairers and parts suppliers.
- Liaising co-operatively with farm Maintenance Manager and Workshop Manager
- Working co-operatively with all farm operation departments
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification such as AQF Certificate III, IV in Diesel Mechanic trade or equivalent.
- Experienced mechanic with diesel mechanical knowledge (experience in the horticulture / agriculture sector is highly desirable).
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical issues of diesel engines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to assist with repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Hold a current heavy vehicle Driver’s License.
- Ability to work co-operatively with farm staff and apply professional communication.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required to maintain efficiency and high performance particularly during peak harvest periods.
- Current Valid Police Check.
